LIFE ACT: SOLIDARITY WITH EAST AFRICA 7-5-17
The Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, called on the world to act before it is too late. He was referring to the urgent need for a response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in East Africa where 20 million people are facing a hunger crisis, especially in northern Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen. To offer help large sums of money are needed – according to the United Nations 242 million dollars in total. But so far they barely have 15 percent. If they fail to come up with the rest, the World Food Program will be forced to cut food rations to the millions of people in need.
What is killing men, women and children in East Africa is a lack of food and water caused by extreme drought as well as consequences of armed conflicts. We can’t change the climate or restore peace. But we can raise money and create awarness by throwing a legendary party.
„Life Act – Solidarity with East Africa“ is a charity open air festival with a unique line up. All of the proceeds from the entrance fees (8 Euro on the day) will be donated to the organization „Bündnis Entwicklung hilft“.
Let’s come together and show our solidarity. We all care!
